what the beep?

on saturday a car in our parking lot starting beeping.
it sounded like someone was locking the car doors over and over again.
it was a little annoying.

late sunday night i started getting more irritated.
it beeped constantly, day and night.

as i left on monday i noticed someone had plastered signs all over the car.
these signs reached a new low.
they were full of profanity and degrading statements. (with spelling errors might i add, classy!)
did these people actually think the person that owned this car was doing it on purpose?
did it not cross their mind that the owner could be out of town?
is that really necessary?

i ran upstairs to get my camera.
by the time i got back, my cute neighbor had removed most of the vulgar signs from the car.
only a couple were left, thank goodness.

about 15 minutes later, the tow truck arrived.
i can't say i was sad to see it go.
i just can't believe some people.

feeling accomplished.

yesterday i successfully ran 13 miles in 1 hour and 59 minutes.
i am pleased.
the things you can accomplish when you put your mind to it.

i am not the only one accomplishing things around here.
emory finally conquered her high heels.
it used to be a little rocky, not anymore, she can strut.

i love watching her juggle the stroller, heels, purse, tiara (of course), fussy baby, and that darn cell phone that keeps ringing.
she already gets it.
being a momma is hard!

design revealed.

well, i am finally done!
this proved to be more challenging than i thought.
it looks like i definitely need the practice.

lisa picked her baby nursery to be re-designed.
here are the pictures of the current room:

this was the perfect room.

her little girl is macey.
macey is one.
i have a special place in my heart for macey, she was born at 24 weeks.
she is amazing.

i asked lisa a couple questions:
*she likes red.
*not a big fan of pink or purple.
*likes letterpress artwork.
*likes simplicity, straight lines, and minimalism.
the rest was up to me.

i wanted this nursery to be an upbeat, happy, and a cheerful space.
the walls are to be painted gray & white vertical stripes.
hints of canary yellow and light red add a touch of spunk, while simple white furniture and wall decor complete the feeling of serenity.

hope you like it!

note: #8, the white frames, are designed to display pictures of macey's incredible journey.

failure. not my kind of fun.

on saturday i got up at 7:30 am.
i ate a small healthy breakfast.
i got all my running gear on.
music on, timer started, shoes tied, and i was off.

i was on my way to run 13 miles!
the first 3 miles were oddly challenging.
the the next 2 miles were horrible.
my knee cramped up, it would not move.
my stomach started to swirl, my head started to spin.
i lasted 5 miles total before getting really sick.
5 miles, only 5 miles.

i had no choice but to call zack.
he came and got me.
i was so disappointed in myself.
this is the first time i was unable to finish.

I am now on week 9 of my 18 week training program.
i can't believe i made it half-way.
unfortunately it was the easier half.
the runs only get more challenging from here on.

this saturday i am going to run the whole 13 miles.
i am going to finish!
failure in NOT an option.
